Muscling through life’s energy around with all the tussle.
Felt like it just wasn’t worth the fight; then the nights came,
Exhaustion carried names through dreams, every night the same.
Spinning energy like a merry-go-round, that wouldn’t slow down.
The exhaustions, pain, all the sounds screaming names all around.
At times it felt like pins, sticking in deep, all over, within, in the skin,
And the pain was the hardest, just before the rain came, all within.
Before you, before love, didn’t have time to think of, anything,
Or anyone; just did what had to be done, work to keep the lights on.
Before I knew, just what I thought, I’d never dream of all those years,
