Is Neurosurgery Next?
Just a little update on what’s going on with me and my household.
Well, since the MRI showed the majority of my husband’s L-spine as being ‘blown-out’, and there’s a ‘pinched nerve’ in the ‘S-spine’, (I think that’s how it was said), so, we waited and waited for the referral which seemed like too long but in reality, it takes time sometimes. Then the call for the appointment finally came. So, yes, he now has an appointment with a neurosurgeon about a couple hours drive from here but, that’s just how it is sometimes.
The drive is pretty much a straight shot and the seats in our old car still have heat and air capabilities. When I was the one making the same drive for, basically the same reasons, I would use the seat heat until hot for a few minutes then change it over to seat cool and let it get cold for a few minutes. I kept changing it back and forth because that’s what helped the most, rotating hot and cold.
Once the appointment was set, I talked to him about the seats’ heating and cooling systems. He stated that he would do that and his doctor had even recommended rotating hot and cold. (I wasn’t aware of that information but, I’m so thankful he said this to him).
Now, the appointment isn’t until mid May but, doesn’t that mean his referral is a really good specialist since he’s so busy? Or, does that say something else?
Now, I don’t know for sure but, I know when I’m looking for a restaurant to eat, I look at the business they’re doing and for how many people. The more busy they are means they must have good food, clean, and good service, right?
So, Is that how we should look at this?
However, I did do the research on the neurosurgeon and looked up the reviews. There are five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ on every review for this doctor- But, he’s in an office with several neurosurgeons. So, I began my research again.
Now, this time, I researched just this doctor’s name and specialty. I’m glad I did. I found that he also has a five star rating- for his work on people, bedside manner, and knowledge with empathy. This feels like such a relief.
Even though we kept the appointment, they have him scheduled with “a neurosurgeon nurse practitioner first”. She, the secretary, or person who makes appointments, says ‘the doctor will be there and will be overseeing the nurse practitioner and will probably come in and talk to my husband after the nurse practitioner has; (I’m assuming that means after the nurse practitioner has gathered all the information needed for the doctor.?) Maybe someone can shed some light on this matter for us?
Either way, I’m still doing the best I can to take care of both of us- which has by no means been easy. It’s difficult but, we’ll manage I suppose. Keeping faith. 🙏
If you’d like to help in some way, I’ve created a ‘Tip Me’ or ‘Donate’ button where anyone can ‘Tip’ one, two, three,… it’s set up so the user may choose how much.
With what’s ahead of me and my husband, anything you can Tip or Donate will help me to get him there and back, provide fuel for the car, food and drink for me and him while there, and will help us get back there for the surgeries he’s probably going to have which means, a hospital stay, food and drink for me while I’m there with him, and this also means a few more round trips, there and back, before and after.
We truly do really need any help you can give by a ‘tip’ or ‘donation’. Thank you so very much. 😊

The car-seat heat and cool plan~ Such a small practical thing, but it made the whole long drive sound a little less lonely and a little more cared-for~ I really hope that appointment brings answers and some breathing room for you both, Tammy-chan.
