Nowhere Land
By: Tammy Brown
It’s simple- Simply doing all I can;
Going nowhere? -Here’s where I am;
I can be- all I need to be;
A shame- you don’t believe in me;
With all my might- Gaining ground;
Not as wrong- As they think I am;
As said ‘I am here’ -in ‘Nowhere Land’;
It’s okay- Have your way;
Shouldn’t matter- What they say;
Standing firm- on my words;
Believe in me- That’s what I need;
Here I stand- As they say, in ‘Nowhere Land’
Can it change? - Seems I’ve changed all I can;
Tired of explaining- No use complaining;
If only, you were here more often;
Convince me,- Reassure me it’s okay;
Hold me; Tell me it’ll be okay;
Help me, hold on- if you can-
Just the way I am, in my Nowhere Land.

Trying so hard while feeling unseen… I get that. Even if I’m stuck in “Nowhere Land,” I still want to believe in myself and keep standing strong.
There’s such quiet strength in this — that sense of standing your ground even when the world doesn’t see you. It reads like someone choosing to keep shining, even in their own Nowhere Land…
