The Game
Game of life and love... by Tammy Brown ©2001 revised © 2025
Burned out,
On your doubt
Head out the door
I tried and cried
Don’t know what for
With your heart
Don’t stand a chance
The game goes:
Outta the park
Over the fence
Running home
Not a fear
No mistakes
Straight shot
I’ve got
Just what it takes.
Does it matter-
How the game plays?
Been there-
Done that
Don’t care
Then run back
It comes around again.
Throw high
Second strike
Dramatize
The foul line
High tide
It’s all the same
How to play the game.
Never really thought
I’d play the game
Never even knew
I could be that way
Not a chance
To find myself
When one gave up-
Found someone else
Now does it matter
How hard I’ve tried?
All that time running
Was running blind.
Love didn’t matter
Until it came along
You love the game
It’s all the same.
Now does it matter,
How the story goes?
You may never know.
All the same-
It’s how you play the game.

One of our eye always there for life n love that's quite missing from our days 🙃 You're stunning 💫💫Well versed 👏👏👏 Awesome 😇😇
This feels timeless, Tammy — like something written from deep inside experience. There’s that quiet strength running under every line, the kind that only shows up after you’ve lived and learned. I love how the “game” becomes more than just love — it’s about resilience, too~
